Pet Diagnostics in St. Peters, MO
In-Clinic Laboratory
At Arch Animal Hospital West, we have the ability to perform extensive blood analysis tests in-house. This includes evaluation of blood chemistries, electrolytes, complete blood counts, blood glucose and fructosamine, and urinalysis. Having this technology on the premises gives us the ability to gather valuable diagnostic information within minutes, which in turn allows us to find and treat a large number of illnesses that might be affecting your beloved pets. We offer a wide range of wellness panels for general screening purposes, as well as the ability to test specific levels to diagnose or monitor diseases.
In addition to our in-house laboratory, we have a full reference lab at our disposal. This expands our lab capabilities multifold.
At Arch Animal Hospital West, we follow the recommendations published by the American Animal Hospital Association (AAHA) in conjunction with the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). AAHA recommends checking for intestinal parasites twice a year. Our selection of preventatives, when used with dogs and cats that are already free of parasites, can help ensure a healthy pet and a healthy household.
Many people don’t realize that several of the gastrointestinal parasites that we find in cats and dogs can also be transmitted to humans. This makes the treatment and prevention of these parasites even more essential!
Digital Radiographs
The ability to take radiographs (x-rays) is essential in the ability to diagnose certain types of disease in animals, including fractured bones, gastrointestinal disease, and cancer. At Arch Animal Hospital West, we utilize a state-of-the-art digital radiograph system to give us the best possible imaging with minimal exposure to radiation. That means we can get a quicker diagnosis as safely as possible for your pet. Another advantage to having a digital radiography system is that, if necessary, we are able to send images of your pet to a specialist to help get a definitive diagnosis or to aid in further treatment.
Pet Ultrasounds
We also have the ability to work with board-certified veterinary radiologists offering ultrasound and other advanced diagnostic imaging at Veterinary Radiology Associates in St. Peters and Imaging4Pets in Schaumburg.
